Previously known as J-Plasma, Renuvion is an innovative and minimally-invasive means to achieve tighter, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin in the neck and body.
Illuminate has earned its reputation as a leading plastic surgery medical practice in the Bay Area. Drs. David Boudreault and Brittany Leader (Double Board Certified) have a passion for helping people develop positive relationships with the way they look and feel and are among the nation’s most respected and accomplished plastic surgeons. Your aesthetic journey begins at Illuminate, with Renuvion in Palo Alto & San Jose.
Renuvion is a procedure that gently contracts the tissue beneath your skin in precisely selected areas to tighten and rejuvenate.
Palo Alto or San Jose Renuvion delivers a stream of helium plasma and radiofrequency(RF) energy to either to the surface of your skin or underneath it. The combination of high-energy heat and cold plasma causes skin to tighten and helps to stimulate collagen production.
Renuvion’s technology is very versatile and can be used to treat nearly any area of your body. With Renuvion Palo Alto or San Jose patients can address common problem areas which include:
Renuvion tightens loose skin with minimal invasiveness and without extended downtime. Results are long-lasting and effects develop over time. The breakthrough advantage is that the combination of two energies—one used to heat and the other to cool—allows Renuvion to safely heat tissues to higher temperatures than other RF devices without the risk of burning or tissue damage. As a result, Renuvion can treat sagging skin in a single session with less downtime and with less discomfort than more invasive methods.
You should be in good health and within about ten pounds of your ideal weight. Non-smokers are preferred. Before any procedure our Illuminate team will answer your questions and make sure you have realistic goals and expectations. If you have advanced sagging skin on your face or abdomen, a surgical facelift or tummy tuck may be a better option for you.
This is the most important decision you will make toward optimizing the results and safety of your Renuvion treatment. At Illuminate we listen and care about delivering outcomes that align with your aesthetic goals. Drs. Boudreault and Leader at Illuminate Plastic Surgery have the expertise to deliver superior results and to help you feel confident, supported, and appreciated.
Renuvion in San Jose & Palo Alto is classified as a minimally invasive treatment however general anesthesia or local anesthesia is still required., Depending on the location of your targeted body areas and the extent of your procedure, your doctor will discuss these options during your consultation. The procedure begins with one or more tiny incisions to allow the Renuvion probe device to be inserted just beneath the surface of the skin on your treatment areas.
The probe uses RF energy to heat your tissue for contraction while the cold helium plasma prevents tissue damage. You’ll be able to return home soon after your procedure is completed and when you have recovered from your anesthesia. Be sure you have arranged for someone to drive you home.
While you will be able to move around, you’ll need to take it easy for a few days. Your doctor may recommend that you wear a compression garment on your treated areas for a while. Most San Jose & Palo Alto Renuvion patients feel comfortable returning to their normal activities after a week.
You’ll notice a firmer skin texture in just a few days. This tightening will continue over several months as your body produces new collagen beneath your skin. With good skincare including sunscreen and a healthy lifestyle, your results can often last for five years or more.
