San Jose Aura Gomes, BSN, RN, CEN is an experienced wellness provider who specializes in IV infusions and wellness care. She combines her experience as a certified IV vitamin infusion therapist and an aesthetic nurse provider to deliver exceptional care to patients looking to optimize their inner health with advanced medicine. After obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, Aura has been a Charge Nurse at Highland Hospital in Oakland for 17 years, where she managed the emergency room at California’s top level 1 trauma center. Simultaneously, Aura practiced as an aesthetic nurse for 12 years in Walnut Creek.
Aura has made health and wellness a primary focus of her personal and professional life. With her own health struggles from having type 1 diabetes for 35 years and caring for her son with autism, she has become passionate about delivering care through “integrative medicine” at Illuminate Wellness by combining conventional (traditional western) and complementary medicines. In recent years, she has become a competitive bodybuilder and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in lifestyle fitness training and nutrition guidance.
Aura works alongside Dr. Del Toro and Dr. Boudreault, specializing in IV vitamin and hydration infusion therapies. Aura recognizes and understands the powerfully positive role nutrition and Wellness Medicine can play in strengthening overall health, improving immunity, boosting fitness, and balancing the whole body from a cellular level. Outside of her clinical duties, Aura is an avid reader and is almost always exercising. She enjoys traveling with her husband and son, visiting her siblings in Bali and Costa Rica, and playing with her three giant Rottweilers.
